Feeling blue

Apolgoises for lack of post yesterday wasn’t feeling so great. As for today I am feeling blue – the suns out and suddenly I want to summerise the house with splashes of yellow, blue and verdent green. Not that I can get the paint brush out and start taking out down pipe that will never happen but I think I want to inject summery hues, fling open the back doors and bake rosemary flat bread and pizza (my newest thing). I’ve posted a few images on my blue theme and I have to say this turquoise hue looks stunning with inky black glossy floors. Reality regrettably doesn’t enable me to bake and potter I have Christmas to think about, a new collection to design, a store to potter around in and alter and so on.

Adore the glossy floors – super sexy

Thanks for still posting fabulous stuff even though you’re feeling low. Since discovering your blog and following your brilliant advice I’ve painted the house and made a visit to the local auction an essential part of the week. Sometimes there’s nothing but I got a fake le Klint lightshade and an original Le Thonet coat tree last week, and am hoping to win a mid-century blue vase for a tenner this week. We’re pretty broke at the minute so I never spend more than 50 euro, usually just a fiver, and my home has absolutely bloomed. Huge thanks to you. BEST x

I love the use of color in these shots – especially the first photo. It’s amazing. That salmon chair and cream chair really pop against the rest.

I am so glad you don’t remove down pipe. Because I’ve just started with painting my house in this colour and I love it (although a piece in turquoise could match in a grandiose way with down pipe). I am a great fan of your style and your work since I’ve bought your book (first in English and just recently in German – by the way, it is a very good translation). A couple of weeks I’ve ordered two rolls of book case wallpaper. I would like to hang them on two pieces of MDF (230×56 cm) that will be put on a wall. How thick should these MDFs be?
Thank you very much for your help!

Wont ever remove down pipe totally in love (head over heels with this colour). Very clever idea hanging wallpaper on boards. I would go as thick as you can (problem being you don’t want the boards to bow). If you go to thin it won’t make such an impression whereas if you go 8/10 mm thick it will look like an art installation.
