The search for the perfect table

I am on the hunt,  for tables that is. I spend all my time searching out new products but little occassional tables that you can plonk next to a sofa or put in an entrance way allude me. I don’t want the standard designer ones – so Saarinen although I love you I’ve seen you far to often. I want simple, either rustic or modern that I can scatter around the house and in my store to place candles on, flowers, pictures all that personal stuff that automatically enlivens a space. I’ve seen hundreds of the things but they just don’t grab me enough to want to purchase. So if you know of any please let me know. The one below is perfect – perfect size with a beautifully organic shape. It doesn’t have to be wood mind I am for once not so fussy – it just has to look fabulous.

Simple but beautiful – it works uptown, down town and in the country.

  1. That’s a beautiful table isn’t it – so simple and interesting. Hand crafted… Reminds me of this wonderful tall, tall candlestick my clever brother made me many years ago from bits of old chair legs and stuff. Quirky. I reckon you should make one YOURSELF out of some stuff lying around – just see what you can do one weekend (if you ever get one off!) – beats stripping wallpaper. x

  2. I always find lovely things like tables at Pale and Interesting.com run by Atlanta Bartlett and Dave Coote. I got a lovely antique French cafe table from them ( amongst other things!!) for beside my sofa and its great.

  3. Wow, the table is an exceptioanlly gorgeous shape. I have just resurrected an old ‘electrical cable reel’ from a friends garden….painting it hot raspberry to use as an occasional table in my kitchen/dining area. Planning to put loads of books on the top level and delicicous bottles of wine on the lower section. Xx
