I am passionate about interiors that embellish an adventurous use of colour (plus all the other bits and bobs of course (texture, scale a mix of vintage, modern and odd old pedigreed antique). We get approached so much for design work, being a small team something I am committed to keeping as I am fanatical, some may say control freakish about being involved in each and every project that carries my name. In the past we have mainly worked on large installations think lavish spas, exclusive resorts and luxury residential projects and unfortunately haven’t been able to take on smaller jobs.
Until now that is – as so many of you are drawn to our distinctive point of view and we hate to disappoint we are now opening the doors of our world famous design studio and launching an e decorating service is that is innately glamorous offering high style at low cost and the best bit you don’t need to leave the comfort of your armchair.
Here’s the details you mail in measurements, answer our questionnaire and send in photographs and we storyboard, floor plan and suggest a resource list from my very own little black book. Its so new its not even on our website yet – but as loyal followers wanted to give you the opportunity to win this service for free. . Hello Abigail,
I am so sorry to message you on your personal page (and here) but I have reached my friend/fan FB limit – or so the FB gods say in one of their pink warning boxes. I am not a designer but even I wonder why this hue was chosen for these types of communication from our faceless friend limiter. I suppose red says “warning” and could seem harsh. Pink is red-lite, so, warning-lite -the softer, less harsh warning.
Sorry to digress.
I am writing firstly, to tell you that you are phenomenally talented and this eDecor idea is brilliant! Secondly, I need your services! I am hoping that I can win for my sister.
My sister, Rachel, and I are best friends. As children we were always rearranging, redecorating, creating new looks for ourselves – generally thinking that we were the coolest people in the world. She actually is. She is magnificently stylish. There really aren’t words to explain how close we are. We love one another in a way that language can’t describe.
As adults, we are both addictive second-hand shoppers. We take long road trips in search of treasures – needles in the haystacks. We have ridiculous road rituals of singing in the car, creating interpretive dances to horrible songs, laughing at nothing – laughing, belly laughing, laughing until the tears come. Our relationship is full of joy!
Last October, my sister, after a long search, married the man of her dreams, John. Together, they found a very unusual artistic house in Bali to make their own. She started making plans for each room.
Just as 2010 came to an end, my sister was diagnosed with cancer. The news, as you can imagine, broke my heart. I have been to visit her twice. She is in Asia and I am in New York. She has had to be away from her home for treatment. A couple of weeks ago, she was able to return home (and to her boy cat, Miss Libby) after months in a serviced apartment in Bangkok. I know that she is anxious to get her house in order but her energy is so low.
I am hoping that you can help with a room – possibly the bedroom since she and her husband are still honeymooners. I know that she would be thrilled! You and she have such similar taste. I know that you would love her! She is so strong, so creative, beautiful -inside and out. She is bald and gorgeous. Her eyes are filled with wisdom and she is looking forward to the rest of her life. She is inspiring everyone around her.
Her last chemo treatment is in three weeks. A magnificent new room designed by you would be a perfect beginning to her next chapter.
I thank you for considering Rachel as the winner of your competition!
All the best,
Jessica
