Hugest hugest thank you to all those who came to the master classes this weekend. It was so much fun meeting everyone, and unbelievably everyone liked the house (which was my hugest worry), Maud and Mungo were sooo well behaved we couldn’t quite believe it. Apart from Maud throwing up in front of everybody (few to many nibbles I think) it was a fabulous weekend. Loved hearing about people’s decorating dilemma’s and hopefully solved a few. Time and time again the layering issue came up be that surfaces or walls and luckily this house is quite a good case study as there is stuff on every surface. One of my top top tips would be the use of mirrors, whether you plonk them on a wall or prop them up they expand horizons and totally bring a space together. The key is to make sure what you are reflecting is desirable, I’m a fan of the supersized variety add a larger mirror than you ought and its almost as if someone has come in and sprinkled some pixie magic dust around the space.
A fab alternative to art my favorite places to plonk them are entrance ways (so often neglected and often times lacking light) you will find they automatically open them up. Living rooms and dining rooms also look fabulous when you add mirrors, particularly if you start reflecting chandeliers, fairly lights and candle light.
No rest for the wicked I am off the store we have had so many deliveries in over the last few days which I have totally neglected that I need to get in there and sort. Maud and Mung’s are off the school, the builder is BACK to finish paneling the loo if its not done for this weekends master class I may have to let the tires down on his vehicle so he doesn’t leave.
Oh and before I go a big thank you to Red Magazine for mentioning the new design school launching here in the New Year – very exciting! One more little thing last week I lost my phone with EVERYONE’S number on which I hadn’t of course backed up. Have got a replacement and am on the same number so guys if you can email me in telephone numbers shall this time back up promise!
You can never have enough mirrors as seen here in this NY pad recently featured in Rue Magazine. If you happen to have a lot of small ones consider grouping multiple ones on the same wall for a fab effect.

Thank you Abigail for a fabulous master class. Your home is a visual feast – of course we adored your dark glamourous and very cool interiors…… Amazing and truly inspirational. It was delightful to meet you and Graham and your two darling dogs. Thank you again. X
Thanks Michele so very kind of you to say xx
Thank you so much for a wonderful and inspiring day on Saturday! Absolutely loved the house (despite having seen it in so many pics – none of them do it justice!) and left feeling thoroughly inspired …promptly went home and kept my poor husband up till 1am rearranging all our furniture!
Thank you thank you, means alot x
Thank you so much Abigail and Graham for such a truly inspiring day yesterday! Still haven’t come down after seeing your absolutely fabulous home! Have so many projects to do before the festive season now, I also prob have to get up at silly hours from now on. Thank you also for a yummy yummy lunch, may I ask who the caterers are? Later on I’m off to my local roofing supplier to get some roof slates and also off to b&q to get a few waterproof extensions for my garden lighting. Good luck with all your up and coming exiting projects! Take care and thank you again. Kari Anna x
Thank you my dear. The lunch was supplied by Bread and Honey – yummy hey and again thank you for your very kind words. Off to get a whole load of roofing slates myself xx
Thank you Abigail, Your house was absolutely stunning and inspiring, I had a great time and it was really nice meeting everyone else as well. Wish you luck with everything that’s going on for you at the moment, you deserve it. x

Just to say a huge thank you, Abigail and Graham, for a fabulous masterclass. It was full of inspirational ideas and your home absolutely does have the WOW factor. Loved it all. Truly did!
Thank you so much x
Hi Abigail & Graham (& furry kids)… many, many thanks to you both for an AMAZING masterclass yesterday… informative & engaging with a laid-back vibe…i felt like a house guest, not a student! Your home is both inviting and awe inspiring and photos truly, truly don’t do it justice… To top it all off you’re a great team, and Abigail you really are incredibly generous with imparting your knowledge, tips and tricks. That’s such a rarity in this industry! I would recommend your classes in a nano-second! Enjoy the fruits of your labour cause you’re gonna be one very busy chick! Sue
Thanks Sue very lovely of you to sayx
Love the picture in this post. I am glad your masterclass went well. You so deserve it.
P.S. I bought a sample pot of London Clay today and painted almost one entire wall in my hall with it (yes my hall is tiny…). Can’t believe I did not do this before, the color is beyond beautiful. I have been staring at it all night, I am so amazed. Have to get more paint tomorrow… Long live the dark side!
Yay so happy that you love it it really is an amazing hue couldn’t agree morex
It truly is. I mean, I know you have said it like a thousand times, but I guess I had to see the transformation with my own eyes, in my own place, to fall for the dark side. I still cannot believe how big of a face-lift it is. Like magic.
I still have to do another coat today, and am now contemplating Charleston grey for the other two rooms opening from the hall. This really is addictive
Thanks for being so amazingx
Glad you love it x
Hi Abigail, I apologize for having to post this here but I am not getting any feedback from your shop regarding an order that I’ve placed and paid deposit of back in March! the chandelier I ordered was supposed to be delivered in August and we are now coming up to December and still no sign of it. Despite numerous emails sent, no one has gotten back to me with any update on the delivery dates. Last email I received from Carla & Graham was on Oct 3rd promising delivery within 4 weeks. Since then no more news. If the chandelier cannot be delivered for whatever reason, I would appreciate an update and return of the deposit paid ASAP please. Its been 8 months since I placed the order ….. Please can you get back to me ASAP on this? Thx! Neeza from Amsterdam.
Hi Neeza, Hugest apologises on your order I will get to the bottom of what’s happened as soon as the store opens and can’t understand why you haven’t been updated if there is a problem with the supplier. Leave it with me you will here back today and again sincerest apologises from the team and especially from me.
Thank you so much Abigail, I look forward to hearing from you.
More than welcome Neeza, I believe you have now been contacted and again sincerest apologises from all of us
Hi Abigail,
I thoroughly enjoyed the masterclass on sunday and am having what I can only describe as flashbacks (many an hour) of your house. It was truly awe inspiring yet so amazingly comfy and not at all precious! The same could be said for you and Graham!
I am fighting with myself over what to do now in our bijou St Albans cottage: fruit crates festooned with fairy lights – maybe not, 19 month old Spike would have a field day!
Mirror opposite my art collection – lots of prep on said mirror to do, I’m thinking downpipe like the room then maybe a scribble of something special to boot!
Anaglypta understairs – me thinks thats a winner as does hubby! Cheaper and easier than tongue and groove at least.
There were so many tips that I hope I don’t loose me piece of paper!
Thanks again and let me know if you would like a portrait of Mungo as I see you have had of Maud.
