Thank you

The hugest thank you to all who attended my Design School which launched this weekend. Had an amazing time yabbering about interiors and hanging out with two groups of very inspirational women.

Gem my sister did a great presentation on flowers (I learnt tons of new stuff). We discussed top rule breakers to take homes to a whole other level, instant updates as well as tips on how to create a totally cool room! Maud and Mung’s behaved themselves (sort of) and everyone was very complementary about the house (considering it isn’t quite finished) so thank you to all again.

The best part of my job in a nutshell was this weekend. Talking. laughing and listening to groups of people as interested in interiors as I am was fantastic. On both days I was asked if there are other courses coming up so the answer is yes. Gem and I plan to lock heads, come up with a cool collection of classes and expand the days.

Some images below of the class room on the top floor of my house, please excuse the fact that its not entirely finished (I pulled it together in a week) but we are so nearly there, and again thank you to everyone who attended. Cannot wait for the next one.

Wow, it looks stunning Abigail! Really love that rug and that rusty chair with dog is just gorgeous. What an inspiring room to hold classes in.

Hi Abi, I just wanted to leave a little note to say the hugest thanks back to you, Gem & Graham for such an amazing class on Sat. I came away feeling more than a little inspired (to be expected) & slightly euphoric (bit weird).
I’d say to anyone thinking about taking the class to go for it, it really is fantastic.
Thanks again for all the advice.
Wendy (Blue tile/brass taps query person) x

Thank you, we used F&B Railings for wood but if yours is plastic you could always use call F&B and see what they advise x

Wow the classroom looks amazing! Just looking at the photo makes me feel very inspired! I would love to come for a class so am going to keep checking for available dates. I have been considering a career change to become an interior designer for a long time now and want to take steps to make it happen! Can you advise on other qualifications I can also consider? I was looking at diplomas at KLC – worth considering? Thanks x

    • abigailahern says:

Thank you, KLC run very good classes, I actually studied with Rhodec its a correspondance course goes up to degree level and you can obvioulsy do it in your own time. Hands on experience is perhaps the hugest help, not only do you get to see how everything runs, what problems arise etc it gives you experience and confidence which is way more important than any piece of paper so maybe find a studio that you could intern in for a bit x

      • Meera says:

Thanks a lot for your reply! That’s very helpful. I’ve dropped you a quick email at your contact@ email address, please take a look! Thanks x

Love that photograph of Biggie!!! Too cool for school. I wish I could attend your school but living in the US is too far to travel. Maybe you should think about an online/virtual skype class to offer? I will be first in line.
